Reset With Reflexology; Finding Your Balance This Autumn
As the seasons change, we’re slipping away from an incredible summer and into the autumnal phase of the year.
Summer is all about being out and about — enjoying the weather, going to parties and events, spending time outdoors and making the most of longer, lighter days with friends and family.
Autumn brings a different rhythm.
More routine. More new beginnings. More practicalities.
Perhaps you’ve had a good reset over the summer and you’re feeling rested and recharged.
But as life starts to get busy again, can you maintain that balance between looking after yourself and getting back to work, family and everyday life?
This is where reflexology can offer something wonderfully simple:
Time to stop.
What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary therapy involving gentle pressure and massage techniques applied to specific areas of the feet.
A reflexology treatment provides an opportunity to lie back, switch off from the outside world and give yourself some uninterrupted time to pause and breathe.
While reflexology is often chosen by people looking for relaxation and support during stressful or busy periods, I believe one of its greatest benefits is simply having dedicated time where you don't have to do anything for anyone else.
And in a world where so many women are constantly juggling work, family, responsibilities and the never-ending to-do list, that can be surprisingly valuable.
Reset With Reflexology
During a reflexology session, my intention is simple:
To give you the reset you need.
Inevitable stress, overwhelm and the pressures of everyday life can sometimes override our sense of wellbeing.
You may still be functioning.
You're getting up. Going to work. Looking after the house. Answering messages. Caring for other people.
But somewhere along the way, your own wellbeing can slip further and further down the list.
That's why making time for a regular reflexology session can be such a valuable part of looking after yourself.
Not because you need another task to complete.
Quite the opposite.
An hour to switch off
When you come for reflexology, you don't need to arrive knowing exactly what's wrong.
You don't need to be completely overwhelmed.
Sometimes you simply know:
“I need a break.”
An hour where nobody needs anything from you.
An hour where you don't have to organise, achieve, respond or take care of anyone else.
You can lie back.
Breathe.
Be still.
Tune into your body.
Notice your breathing and your thoughts.
And allow the busyness of everyday life to soften for a while.
For me, this is what makes reflexology such a lovely form of self-care.
It's not about adding another wellbeing task to your already busy life.
It's about giving yourself permission to stop.
Why consider regular reflexology?
You don't have to wait until you're exhausted before you take some time for yourself.
Regular reflexology can become a simple way of building intentional pauses into your routine.
Think of it as pressing the reset button.
A chance to step away from the demands of everyday life and create some space for yourself.
This can be particularly helpful during times of transition — such as the change from summer into autumn, returning to work after a holiday, starting a new routine or simply noticing that life has become particularly busy again.
And perhaps that's the question worth asking yourself this September:
How am I actually feeling?
Not how are you coping.
Not how much are you getting done.
Not whether everyone else is okay.
How are you?
You don't need to do more
We often think that feeling better means doing more.
More exercise.
More healthy habits.
More supplements.
More routines.
More things to tick off the list.
But sometimes the most supportive thing you can do is the opposite.
Stop.
Give yourself an hour.
Let someone else take care of you.
Allow your mind to become quieter.
Allow your body to be still.
And simply notice what happens when you aren't rushing on to the next thing.
You may leave your reflexology session feeling lighter, calmer and more grounded — ready to step back into your daily life feeling a little more like yourself again.
Because self-care isn't about adding another thing to your to-do list.
Sometimes, it's about stopping long enough to reset.

Can reflexology be covered by health insurance?
Some health insurance policies may cover complementary therapies such as reflexology, depending on your individual policy and insurer.
If you think your policy may cover your treatment, it's worth checking with your insurance company before booking.
Following your session, I can provide an invoice which you can submit to your insurer if your policy allows you to claim for reflexology.
A final thought for September
As we move into a new season, perhaps you don't need another thing to achieve.
Perhaps you simply need a little more space.
Space to breathe.
Space to pause.
Space to look after yourself.
And sometimes, that one hour can make all the difference.
